Support from Government affirms commitment: Vocea

There was jubilation among guests at Seaqaqa Primary School as Commissioner Northern, Joseva Vocea, opened the Seaqaqa Kindergarten school block on Tuesday.

The event was significant because in 2015, a temporary shed was built to host preschool students, but on Tuesday, with the Government’s help, the children now have a new and proper classroom.

Mr Vocea said Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama had assured the school that his office would help with materials to complete the new block.

“The commitment has materialised where the Office of the Prime Minister provided a fund to a tune of $49,850.75 under the Small Grant Scheme Programme to assist the school on the construction of the new kindergarten school block,” Mr Vocea said.

“This commitment indicates Government commitment towards the Education Sector.

“A total of 60 preschool students will be now accommodated within this new school kindergarten block which is of great news to the entire Seaqaqa community.”

Seaqaqa Primary School chairman Lakhan Kumar said: “This kindergarten project has been a long awaited and much cherished dream.

“This is a remarkable achievement for the school and community at large as we take extreme pride and display self satisfaction,” Mr Vocea said.
