Team Fiji badminton team is wary of competing against the world number one players.

The Fijians will start their campaign next Tuesday in the singles event but the full schedule has yet to be confirmed.

Andra Whiteside is expected to play against PV Sindhu who won gold for India in the 2016 Rio Olympics in the  singles beating  Carolina Marina of Spain.

Team Fiji badminton manager Barry Whiteside says they need to work out a plan.

“The player from India has also won the World Championship singles event,”he said.

“It will be an honour for Andra playing against her and later this week we will sit and discuss on how she can approach that game.

“We have trained at the games venue and it looks really good.  We are all settling in well for the competition.

“There is no major injury, no flu everyone is looking forward to the competition.”
