Flood Victims to Get $1000 FNPF Payout Today

The Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) will be making its first $1000 payout to people affected by the recent floods by Tropical Cyclone Josie within the Western Division today.

This was announced by the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama at Koronubu House in Ba yesterday.

According to his own assessment, he said Ba was the most affected and that hundreds of people having nothing to survive in because all their belongings were destroyed in the flood.

FNPF chief executive officer Jaoji Koroi said that nine teams from their office were currently stationed on the ground to give out forms for those affected in the recent floods.

He added that since the natural disaster hit many people without warning, the funds would be directed to the bank where people could access them.

Mr Koroi was also in Ba yesterday assessing
areas where  homes have been destroyed by the floods.

He said the first payments would solely focus on those that were badly hit by the floods within Nadi and Ba.
