Team Fiji netball shooter Alesi Waqa- Paul is in doubt for their next game against Barbados tomorrow night.

Paul injured her knee in the fourth quarter against Jamaica yesterday. The team were thrashed 88-30 at the Broadbeach Conventional Sporting Indoor Complex.

Head coach Vicki Wilson said the injury would affect the team.

“Alesi’s knee injury looks serious, she is being assessed and will be taken care of,” Wilson said.

“This is a huge impact on our team, now that we losing a player in our first game.”

The Sunshine Girls had a strong start in the first two quarters having the height advantage and power in attack leading 49-15 at halftime.

The Jamaicans continue to strengthen their attacking line and defended well to extend their lead 69-22 in the third quarter and sealed the win 88-30.

Our young netters like shooter Maliana Rusivakula, wing attack Talei Waqainabete and shooter Laisani Waqa impressed the coaching panel.

“I was pleased to see the young players, there were basic errors, it was a tough start for them,” Wilson added,
