Former world number one and proud Fijian Vijay Singh has once again rubbed shoulders with one of the most exclusive group of golfers in the world at the annual Masters Champions Dinner.

As per tradition at the first Major tournament of the year, every winner of The Masters storied history is invited to a dinner at Augusta National with the menu curated by the current champion.

With his win in 2000, Singh has a lifetime invitation to the tournament and exclusive dinner it hosts every year.

Some of golf’s greatest gathered this year including four-time winner Tiger Woods, three-time winner Gary Player, Jordan Spieth, Adam Scott as well as Mike Weir and Angel Cabrera who both teed it up in the 2017 Fiji International presented by Fiji Airways.

This year, the menu was selected by 2017 Masters Champion, Spaniard Sergio Garcia who, in keeping with tradition, handpicked a menu of Spanish cuisines for the selected group of stars.

Spanish tapas were served prior to the entrée which was a spin on tradition with Garcia choosing an “International Salad” consisting of ingredients from all 10 countries who have won The Masters.

The main course was Arroz Caldoso de Bogavante, a traditional Spanish lobster rice dish followed by a tres leches cake or three milks cake, a specialty usually prepared by Garcia’s wife Angela.

Singh will tee it up in his 25th Masters tournament this week and play the opening two rounds alongside two young guns of international golf in American Daniel Berger playing in his third Masters and Japanese star Satoshi Kodaira who is making his debut in the tournament.

Whilst gracing the hallowed fairways of Augusta National, one of the most revered golf courses in the world, Singh will proudly represent his home country and the golf course he designed when he wears a Natadola Bay Championship Golf course hat.

The Masters will be played from April 5-8 and is the first of four Major tournaments on the golfing calendar. The Masters will be broadcast live on Fiji One from 7am today.
