Defending Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League champions Lelean Memorial School have secured their spot in the 2018 Under-19 grand final set for next Saturday.

The Davuilevu Bulldogs beat John Wesley College 10-6 during their semifinal clash at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.

In the other semifinal Ratu Kadavulevu School edged out a determined Marist Brothers High School side 10-4.

LMS U19 manager Adi Vika Draunakacau said the players have being doing well in trying to balance schoolwork and sports.

“They are looking forward to the final next week,” she said.

“We want to retain the title. It has been challenging when we try to balance school work and training. The boys have really sacrificed a lot.”

RKS manager Saimoni Tamani said they are not underestimating their opponents. “We are still new to rugby league and to come this far and play in the final is quite an achievement. We will want to win and we know it will not be easy going up against the defending champions.”
