The sale can happen in two phases: Koro Beach Resort, alone worth $FJ 1.5 million and 24 conjoined residential ‘bures’ separately costing $FJ1.2 million.

The resort was built by property developing couple David and Elsa Miller, as part of the development of two resorts on the island.

Koro Island in the Lomaiviti Group was ravaged by Tropical Cyclone Winston in 2016.

After seeing the damage caused by a large climatic event, the owners of the property want to sell only on the condition that the island’s environment is kept pristine.

“We are targeting someone who is looking to maintain the island’s pristine environment,” said the property’s agent Edward Soro in a phone call.

Mr Soro said the ‘bures’ at the resort managed to weather the storm in 2016, allowing them to re-build and eventually place the property on the market.

The 24 residential ‘bures’ are under 99-year tourism leases that activated on September 10, 2014.

The entire Koro Beach Resort has a spring water supply and is powered by solar energy, Mr Soro said.

He said there was huge potential for water sports such as fishing and diving, adding that it was a place where guests could look forward to being served by friendly local staff.

He said a key feature of the resort was its 7 eco-friendly bures and a breezy yacht club.

“Right now, it’s on a really beautiful patch of land and you can either expand the resort or you could go into farming – the opportunities on this piece of land are endless,” Mr Soro added
