A Nasinu man alleged to have raped a six-year-old boy last year will have his bail application heard in the Suva High Court on April 27, 2018.

The accused Shiek Zohaib Shah, 24, appeared before Justice Salesi Temo represented by Legal Aid Commission lawyer Lisiate Qetaki.

State lawyer Kimberly Semisi appeared for the prosecution and stated that they were not objecting to the accused’s bail application.

She said Shah had no previous convictions and was not related to the boy.

Ms Semisi also stated that the accused was proposing to move from his place of residence away from the victim.

Justice Temo advised Ms Semisi to get a report from the boy’s parents or his guardians for the court’s perusal.

Mr Qetaki was advised to provide two sureties for the accused on the next court date.

The case has been adjourned to April 27, 2018. The accused was further remanded in custody.
