This year, Fiji will host the  Private Sector Engagement Conference (PSEC) at Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa on May 14.

It is a biennial event hosted by the vice-chair World Customs Organisation (WCO) Asia/Pacific region.

Fiji will play host in its capacity as the current vice-chair WCO Asia/Pacific.

With the theme: ‘Border Management Solutions: the Way forward,’ this one-day conference will highlight the importance of different types of solutions and best practices which can have beneficial application to member countries for the management and security of their borders.

It is envisioned that the conference will bring together the customs and private sector communities within and from outside the region, to discuss current and emerging issues affecting the region.

This will also serve as a platform to enhance Customs to Customs (C2C) and Customs to Business (C2B) relationships.

There will be workshops and plenary sessions running parallel to each other with discussions focusing around the three thematically broad areas of data analysis, trade facilitation and border protection.

The distinguished Speakers from the industry and the private Sector will deliver from their own personal and professional experience, the issues and solutions intrinsically linked to the themes.

FRCS hopes that delegates and workshop participants are active discussants in the various organised sessions that they choose to attend.

The Speaking sessions will see the likes of Michael McQueen, the internationally renowned futuristic speaker.

He will be joined by a host of other eminent speakers from the industry and the Private Sector.

Registration is open and those who want to register can visit

Registration fee is AUD $150 (FD$).

This one day conference is an initiative of the World Customs Organisation Asia/Pacific region aimed at bringing together the Asia/Pacific regional heads of customs administrations and private sector communities within and from outside the region to discuss pertinent topics and issues affecting the region.

The conference theme is “Border Management Solutions: the Way forward” with keynote presentations, panel discussions and workshop sessions.

The conference will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions and two workshop sessions to ensure interactivity among the speakers and those attending the conference.

The morning workshop session theme is “Solutions” while the afternoon session theme is ”As Is and To Be: Why and How – connecting the future.”
