Traders in the north beware the Fijian Competition & Consumer Commission officers are visiting supermarkets and shops to ensure they the enforce the new Fuel and LPG Products Prices.

Commission Regional manager North Sheik Yusuf and his team are conducting this exercise to ensure that the customers were not cheated.

“The price of LPG on 12kg, 13kg and 4.5kg has been reduced in Fiji and we wanted to find out if people are following this,” Mr Yusuf said.

“The price for 12kg is $33.94, 13 kg is $36.77 and 4.5 kg is $12.73.

“We have visited a few supermarkets and they have been in compliance.

“We will be visiting other supermarkets in other rural areas today whereby we will be monitoring the prices of LPG.”

Mr Yusuf said those that still sold LPG to customers using the old price would be taken to task.

“If we find them not in compliance the traders will be taken to task where they will be warned and can face prosecution, because it has been announced in the radio, newspapers and television that the price of LPG has been reduced,” he said
