The Bottega Gold Fijian Fashion Festival is hosting a Prosecco tasting night this Saturday, April 21, to celebrate our commitment to a brand that has in turn, shown their strong commitment to the development of the Global Fashion Industry over a number of years.

What makes this event more exciting is the attendance of Liam Hindle, who is not only the Managing Director of Victoria Wines but is a sommelier of sorts being Fiji’s pre-eminent authority when it comes to wine.

The understanding of his products goes beyond probably anybody else in our region.

So to have him at our Prosecco Tasting to talk to us about Prosecco: what it is, what it means and the values behind Prosecco, is a big deal and an opportunity not to be missed.

Fashion is lifestyle.

Fashion is lifestyle.

Very often we discuss a crossover between the two but essentially fashion is lifestyle in the sense that it is more than just the clothes that you choose to wear.

Fashion is expressed in many ways including an individual’s personal preference when it comes to the car that they drive, the food that they eat, the lifestyle that they choose to live and it also includes what they choose to drink.

With relation to fashion, ‘sparkling’ has always been a big part of the industry.

There are different types of sparkling, the most predominant ones being Champagne and Prosecco.

What is Prosecco?

Prosecco is very well known in Italian Circles as it is essentially the Italian version of champagne and, Bottega in particular has a very strong history when it comes to fashion.

This down to the fact that the values and vision of Bottega are much the same of the fashion industry in Italy—which is also interestingly enough, a mirroring of what we have here in Fiji.

The industry in Fiji was founded with family based companies and businesses using their family based understanding of how fashion should operate where knowledge is passed from generation to generation.

Everybody supports each other in this communal ecosystem and share in each other’s successes as the success of each stakeholder only further bolsters the industry as a whole.

A parallel can be drawn between the family owned Bottega and the Fashion industry here in Fiji, as all of our local labels are local expressions and individual expressions and for that reason the crossover between fashion and lifestyle is both inevitable and fantastic.
