The presence of the All Blacks and Hurricanes first five-eight Beauden Barrett at the Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday was an inspiration to the Jack’s Nadi women rugby team.

Barrett, here to refresh before resuming his Super Rugby duty next week, trained at Prince Charles Park.

Jack’s Nadi women head rugby coach Jone Cagi said the girls are all set for the game against BLK Nadroga women on Saturday.

“Our aim is to win over Nadroga and also to be the first winner of first provincial rugby women’s competition in the country,” he said.

“Our preparation has been on par and these girls have been on a six- week programme. Having an All Blacks Barrett on the other side of the field inspired the girls as they know him pretty well.

“We had two warm-up matches with Nadroga and Navosa. The girls are really excited to get the job done.”

Fijiana XV captain Leilani Burness to lead

The side will be captained by the first Fijiana XV captain Leilani Burness who plays number eight.

“We are calling for our supporters to be there for us on Saturday.”
