Noqu Suva made a clean sweep in the opening round of the Skipper Cup Premiership at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori, yesterday.

The Suva women started the romp against Malolo winning 15-10 and the Under-20 proved too strong beating their western counterparts 27-17.

In the main competition, the capital side outscored Malolo seven tries to one.

Although Malolo led 13-8 at halftime, the Noqu Suva force made it look easy and were unstoppable in the second spell to score a bonus 42-13 win.

Malolo and Suva first five –eighths Peni Ralagi and Mosese Tikoduadua scored from their second penalties, 3-3.

Ralagi extended the lead with another penalty before Malolo heavyweight Isoa Vasukula scored the first try of the match which was not converted, 13-3.

Suva found their mojo and scored before halftime, 13-8.

The powerful forward surge led by Isireli Ledua forced the destruction and set the platform in one team show in the second spell leaving Malolo on the defensive now and again.

The front on attack and a collective surge for the tryline left the westerners gasping for air.

Tikoduadua led the scoring after a clever chip kick by halfback Tieri Tamani.

The other tries were scored by Jone Delana, Sireli Kaloucava,Manu Laqai, Semi Keli and Peni Matawalu.

Big play; The Suva forwards led the way to the tryline.

Star turn: The Tamani, Tikoduadua combination set the wheels of attack in motion and should be a force to beware in the 2018 Skipper Cup Premiership.
