WOWS Kids Fiji team leader Viola Lesi said the organisation had expanded its support services to make sure none of the children were left behind.

In a workshop yesterday at the Tanoa Plaza Hotel in Suva, Ms Lesi said their main objective was to help the parents  to cope during and after treatment.

“In order to do that, the support that we offer should be holistic, that’s why we are expanding on the service,” she said.

Ms Lesi said sometimes treatment took at least two to three years and at times, a parent will have to leave their job to be with their child in the hospital.

“The workshop is to introduce our parents to the new services we offering,” she said.

One of the services that WOWS Kids are already providing is transportation.

Ms Lesi said it has helped the parents in getting their children for treatment on time.

At times they are just diagnosed but they do not go back for treatment due to financial constraints.

WOWS Kids Fiji is approaching its 10th year anniversary.

Right now it is supporting more than 70 children around Fiji.

Some of the new services provided include:

  •  Financial literacy
  •  Small Businesses start up
  •  Nutrition
  •  School Readiness
  •  Emotional/Psychological Counselling
