High Court judge Justice Kamal Kumar will hear the strike out application advanced by Solicitor-General Sharvada Sharma on May 9, 2018.

Mr Sharma filed the application to strike out Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry’s application for eligibility to contest this year’s General Election.

Mr Sharma informed the court that Chaudhry had paid the $2000 fine previously imposed by the court.

Justice Kumar gave Mr Sharma until May 2, 2018 to file his submissions for the strike out application.

He then gave Chaudhry’s lawyer until May 7, 2018 to file their response.

Chaudhry is represented by defence lawyers Dharmendra Kumar and Anand Singh.
