FijiFirst Member of Parliament and businessman Balmindra Singh, 46, will have his case heard in the Magis­trates Court in Suva from October 29 to 30, 2018.

On December 17, 2017, the accused alleg­edly assaulted a 29-year-old bus driver at a nightclub in Suva occasioning in actual bodily harm.

The hearing date was set by Magistrate Asanga Bodaragama yesterday after Singh appeared in court.

He had denied the charge of assault caus­ing actual bodily harm on the previous court date and was represented by defence lawyer, Andrew Liverpool, when he first ap­peared.

He was released on $1000 surety bail.

A full phase disclosure has been served to the defence.

Police prosecutor Constable Monish Chan­dra informed Magistrate Bodaragama that they were ready to set a hearing date.

The accused’s bail was extended, and he is expected to appear in court for hearing in October.
