It was a proud moment for Constable Viliame Rokogu when he was given a motorbike to assist him in patrolling and crime investigations.

The 41-year-old Constable, from Wailevu, Cakaudrove, is based at the Levuka Police Station said it was a great achievement for his station to be handed a motorbike as they only had one vehicle for investigations and patrols in Levuka.

The father of six was among the 130 Police officers who were handed a Yamaha Motorbike each to assist them in their mobility.

He said he was proud of his achievements and was thankful to the Police force for considering he was capable to drive a motorbike.

Constable Rokogu said the first time experience was scary, but the training was informative and helped him learn a lot about the motorbike to ensure the usage was proper and the bike was properly maintained.

“I am proud of myself and the achievement I have earned with over 20 years of service in the force,” Constable Rokogu said.

“This is the first time for me to ride a motorbike.

“The motorbike will assist me to attend to calls and reports to investigate while the vehicle is out on patrol.

“We will not have to wait for the vehicle as this will cater for our travelling.

“The members of the public expect a quick response from us and the motorbike will assist us in travelling quicker and easier too,” Constable Rokogu said.
