Highlanders will bring in an extended squad during round 17 of the Super Rugby match against the Chiefs on June 30 at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

Marketing manager Amanda Gould said the players are looking forward to playing in front of their fans in Fiji for the first time.

“We will be playing like it will be our last game.  It’s something that you don’t want to miss,” Gould said

“We are very excited to be bringing our full squad of about 42 players and they are all excited.

“Fijians Waisake Naholo and Tevita Nabura are definitely coming with  the squad and they are very eager playing at home.

“Bringing in the whole team is a key component for the Highlanders. We are like a big family.

“There are about 62 making up the tour party and we are looking forward to teaming up with the Fijian community.”

Fiji Sports Council CEO Litiana Loabuka said the Highlanders following in Fiji is on the up.

“We are happy with the response that we have had so far. We are working with Amanda and Amelia to make sure that we have more promos this year. We will be giving opportunities to children so that they can train with players

“I’m excited about the increase of the Highlanders fans that have already  bought  tickets.

“The players will be at the ANZ  Stadium during the day so that they can meet their fans.”

Amanda encourages fans to come and support their teams on June 30.

“We encourage all Fijians to come and support their teams as you are going to see Super Rugby at its best

“The third largest followers for the Highlanders are here in Fiji and we are so happy that we will be coming and playing for  our fans.

‘We are hoping to invite,the Naholo and Nabura families to come and join us at our hotel. “

The Highlanders and Chiefs  are fourth and fifth respectively on the Super Rugby standings.
