Saula Colata was a proud father after finally graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture yesterday.

He was among the 120 students who graduated from the Fiji National University College of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.

He is married to Vasemaca Colata and they have a two-year-old son.

“It is not easy getting a degree,” he said.

“You have to go through a lot of obstacles to even come forth to this day.”

He said being a father and a full time student was a challenge for him because he was not only worried about his studies but also his role as a husband and a father.

In his last year of school, Mr Colata had to look for a job to cover his school fees.

“This degree is dedicated to my father who for the past four years has been the backbone to my success today,” he said.

“He had invested so much in me and he never fails to provide for my needs.

“I also thank my wife for being so supportive from day one.

“Behind every strong man is a powerful woman,” said Mr Colata.
