In an effort to ensure the health and wellbeing of its staff the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has embarked on a nationwide medical screening for their staff.

Yesterday, it was the turn of LTA staff in Labasa to undergo screening.

Board chairman Vijay Maharaj said all LTA staff would undergo the screening.

“The health and wellbeing of our staff are paramount to LTA, our human resources team will travel with Ministry of Health officials to examine our staff,” Mr Maharaj said.

“The medical screening of LTA staff is done every year.

“LTA is working closely with the Ministry of Health in organising medical screenings across the country.”

Mr Maharaj said the screenings included meeting nutritionists and Ministry of Health staff who conducted presentations.

“More than 400 staff of LTA will undergo medical screening, which started from the Northern Division and will be followed by screenings in the Western and Central/Eastern divisions,” he said.

“The aim of the screenings was to inspire staff to lead a healthier lifestyle and that LTA staff would be more health conscious.”
