Joseph Kwadjo will be making his return to the ring after two years against Vanuatu’s Kali Jacobus in the main bout of tonight’s programme at the Prince Charles Park, Nadi.

The duo will feature in the light heavyweight contest under  the Best Boxing Promotions banner.

“I have been away for some time but I have been sparring three times a week and I’m ready for the fight,” Kwadjo said who tipped the scale at 79.7 kg.

“I respect Kali as he is a good boxer and I cannot promise that I will knock him out.”

He is dubbed as the ‘Pride of Osu’ having fought 35 times with 23 wins (18KOs) and 11 losses since his debut win over Issaka Sulley in 2003.

Kwadjo in his last fight lost to Nikolas Charalampous on point’s in 2016.

He thanked his sponsors, friends, families and fans for their support.

Kali known as the ‘The Malekula Kid’ tipped the scale at 80.9kg.

“It should be good and I’m looking forward to return to the ring after seven years.”

He has fought in Fiji three times before defeating Sakeasi Dakua in (2005), Temo Kolitapa (2006) and Tevita Ligaitukana (2008).

“I have been training for the last two weeks. I don’t know Kwadjo but know that he is a world class fighter.”

He has fought 19 times with 15 wins (11KOs) and four losses since his debut win over Charles Watha in 2002.

He last fight was when he ost to Francisco Mora in the seventh round in 2011.
