Australian swimmer Kee­ley Stewart, 10, was happy with her performance at the Fiji Swimming Long Course Age National Championship at the Da­modar City Aquatic Centre, Suva.

Stewart won her first gold medal for the Emu Park Swim Club in the 50 metres butterfly event.

“One of my aims was to win gold for the first time in event like this and I’m very happy,” she said

“I believed in myself and I was confident to fight my fears.’

She wishes to make a mark in swimming in the future.

“I would like to recommend swim­ming to all the children as it helps them physically and mentally.”
