The Grasshoppers Netball Club’s mission is to perform to their best.

Last Saturday they won two grades in the 2018 Newworld IGA Suva Netball Association knockout games.

Grasshoppers Gold won the Princess Grade beating Grasshopper Silver 14-1 and Grasshopper Development won the Sports World Vodre Development Grade beating Tagimoucia 12-7 at the Damodar Netball Courts in Suva.

Coach Alumeci Sachs said the switch from Nasinu to Suva helped the team to be playing in more competitions.

Sachs added all their teams performed well and they are looking forward to the next round.

“There were a lot of good competitions and all performed well,” Sachs said.

“The switch to Suva was really good and we can see that the girls have really improved.

“They have really grown and we are very happy with the win.

“The Grasshoppers Netball Club prides on the importance of its family values and the every decisions has always been family based and made with fairness to all players and families alike.”

Suva Netball president Gabrieli Qoro said the tournament was a success with a record number of 42 teams and they are looking forward to the next round of competition in August. Qoro acknowledged the participation of newcomers Congo Waimanu and Senivoro.

“We have 12 weeks of netball ahead of us, as we also gear up to prepare our teams to defend the National Championships in August,” Qoro said.

“We acknowledged newcomers to our association this year from Naitasiri, Team Congo Waimanu and Senivoro from Lami.

In other matches, Queen’s Grade Camaitoga Trophy- Tagimoucia beat Congo Waimanu 6-3, Open women Vugakoto shield-Lomaiviti Black beat Tagimoucia Flames 17 – 14, and Open men Gonewai Trophy- USP Reefs beat Lomaiviti Maloi 8 – 2.
