Hundreds of families from around Suva will flock to their popular picnic spots at My Suva Picnic Park and at Deuba, this Mother’s Day.

After many years, parent Suliana Latianara said she plans to take her children to My Suva Picnic Park.

“The children have worked hard throughout the year. The children did a lot of church activities and achieved good marks during the first time of this year, so this is like an end of the year thanksgiving,” she said.

“The weather is nice and would be great to see that everyone enjoys themselves this Mother’s Day.

“Churches and faith groups, community and youth groups and family gatherings at lunch and dinner showed how people cared for their mothers.Simply wishing your mother ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ means a lot. It shows a mother how much you appreciate them

“The children are excited to come because I have told them about our plans as everyone have worked hard throughout the half of the year but today we can sit and talk while we watch the children enjoy themselves,” she said.

Also, Christians around Fiji will celebrate Mother’s Day with a church services led by mothers.

“We, as mothers, get this special Sunday once a year to preach the word of God to our children, grandchildren and our husbands. The service is always special,” she said.

“Christians around the world takes advantage of this day to share the good gospels and have a women fellowship.

“During women fellowship, women will be able to share the personal issues and ways they can solve the problem.

“Definitely a perfect day to highlight and look back into the past months of 2018.”
