ANZ Refurbishment In A Class Of Its Own

The ANZ Bank Lautoka Branch has been transformed into the latest bank­ing concept with state of the art equip­ment.

ANZ will also be the first commercial bank to have a nursery area for their female em­ployees who have babies but have returned to work but still need to feed them.

Also incorporated in the new concept would be a prayer room for employees who may want to do their prayers in privacy.

Following the opening of the newly refur­bished branch, no one who had any idea of the history of the building would believe it was over 100 years old.

ANZ CEO, Saud Minam, said the refurbish­ment of the bank was also important in that visitors arriving into Lautoka’s CBD from the port end saw the bank as first point of contact.

Mr Minam said the refurbishment designs were planned with the main aspect being to lessen the waiting time for customers inside the bank and at the same time have state of the art facilities at their disposal.


The teller area is the latest with the smallest size computers brought in.

The new number system and handling of business and personal customers will see the easing of congestion.

Mr Minam said customers were amazed to see the newly designed interior of the bank as it was opened a week ago.

The branch manager’s office is the first of­fice when one enters the bank and opposite this is the new concierge desk that will deal with small matters.

The areas where customers need to write or fill in slips have been designed to suit customers whether they are standing or in a wheelchair.

On the right side are the tellers and person­al banking personnel are to the left and who will deal with customers regarding savings, loans, time deposits and all other matters.

One of the stand out features of the bank is the stand-up i-pad with full wifi available for customers to carry out their account checks, transfer or funds within the bank or to an­other bank, telegraphic transfers or payment of bills to 35 different companies.

At the rear of the bank is the business trans­actions area and also a new service where customers can deposit their cash or cheques into a box if they ae in a hurry and have no time to wait in the bank.

Mr Minam said the customers could then check their accounts later through online banking to see that the deposit has been done.

“All in all its is a superb change to what we had here before.”
