Unbeaten Tailevu rugby team eye a spot in the 2019 Skipper Cup Premiership.

This was after the side thrashed Macuata 13-0 in round three of the Vodafone Vanua Championship at Ratu Cakobau Park Two yesterday.

“Our aim is to play in the Skipper Cup Premiership next year,”Tailevu rugby manager Levani Matea said.

What happened: Tailevu’s first five eighth Etonia Rokotuisawa kicked two penalties for the team to lead 6-0.

Tailevu had the opportunities to score but the Macuata stood strong in defence.

Halftime: Tailevu 6-0 .

Tailevu up the momentum in the second half with a try to centre Ravuama Tagitaginimoce which was converted by Rokotuisawa.

Fulltime: Tailevu 13-0 Macuata

Star turn: Tagitaginimoce powered over to score after a second surge by the Tailevu forwards.

Macuata head coach Sevania Nanuku said;

“I thank the boys for their hard work and we played a good game. We now look forward to our next game.”

Tailevu rugby manager Levani Matea said; “Even though we won, we did not play according to plan. We were penalised a lot and discipline is one area we need to work on.”
