The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) shooting team has identified areas it needs to improve on in the next Australian Army Skill at Arms Meeting (AASAM).

RFMF Land Force Commander Colonel Sapenafa Motufaga made this revelation to Col Richard Parker, the Commandant Combined Arms Training Centre (CATC) at Puckapunyal Military Base in Melbourne, Victoria, when he paid a courtesy call before visiting the team.

He told Col Parker that the team learned a lot during the three-week competition.

Col Motufaga encouraged RFMF team members to learn more from their counterparts.

During the courtesy visit Col Parker told Col Motufaga that they were pleased to have the RFMF shooting team participate at AASAM.

The aim of AASAM, he said, was to improve the military operational capability and close combat skills.

“We would also appreciate if you could share your opinion with us on this AASAM competition,” he said.

Indonesia topped the AASAM competition.
