The iTaukei Affairs Board deputy chief executive officer Josefa Toganivalu has encouraged delegates present at the Cakaudrove Provincial Council meeting in Savusavu yesterday to invest and save money for the future generation.

Mr Toganivalu, who was the chief guest for the meeting, said they were trying to change the mindset of the iTaukei when it came to making use of the resources that they had.

“We have to make use of the land and gain profit and to invest for the future generation,” he said.

“The iTaukei was resource rich but cash poor. We have the resources, but are not utilising it. iTaukei are being poor while sitting on riches. We can use our resources to start businesses and to increase the profit for our children.”
