The Oceania National Olympic Committee(ONOC)  and the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee(FASANOC) together with Kiliati Enterprises signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Suva yesterday.

The partnership will see the delivery of Oceania Sports Education Programmes.   The announcement marks another step towards achieving FASANOC’s Strategic 2017-2021 Plan and its vision “To inspire the people of Fiji through sports excellence.

It will also see Kiliati Enterprises oversee the delivery of the Oceania Sports Education Programme courses with FASANOC.  OSEP is ONOC’s flagship initiative for the Olympic movement in the Pacific and FASANOC is engaging Kiliati Enterprises as its training provider to deliver OSEP trainer, coaching and administration courses to build capacity of those supporting the development and progress of athletes towards their dreams and aspirations.

This partnership represents an important collaboration in the sporting community to build capacity and improve sports governance.   In 2017 this was a particular focus of Kiliati’s contribution in the Resurgence Agenda for FASANOC.

This exciting partnership will ensure that our National Federations are supported with quality delivery of courses, and working with the Fiji Higher Education Commission to formulate the National requirements in sporting qualification.

Through sporting qualification, in particular the OSEP pathway, FASANOC is working towards adopting a National Accreditation Scheme to use as a basis of selection of Team Management and Volunteers who serve Team Fiji to the Olympic Games, Pacific Games and Commonwealth Games.

The different types of courses provided by OSEP will provide a sound and consistent grounding to team management and officials who wish to officiate as athlete’s entourage, the important group of personnel who surround an athlete as he/she prepares to excel as a representative of Fiji.

FASANOC is pleased to partner with ONOC and Kiliati Enterprises and looks forward to enhancing the relationship that already exists in an effort to bring athletes to their full potential.
