Ba juice boys Joji Bukalidi and Adriu Naisiroki made the most of their business opportunities in Ba yesterday.

The two set up their juice stall at the Ba Market Ground during the Micro and Small Business Grants Disbursements event at which the Minister for Tourism, Trade, Industry, Lands and Mineral Resources Faiyaz Siddiq Koya officiated.

“We want to start our own food business and we have applied for the small business grants as well, but while waiting we opted to maximise our profits by selling juice to the crowd here,” Mr Naisiroki said.

He said they were told that the result of their application would be determined and announced later this year.

Mr Naisiroki said they wanted to make something of themselves, starting and running a business and according to him, “like everything else in life, we have to have a starting point somewhere, no matter how small it is”.

“We know that there will be a big crowd here so we thought we might as well make use of the opportunity and rake in as much profit as we can.”

In addition, Mr Bukalidi said they would venture into the food business once their grant was approved.

“But while waiting we want to do what we can first because there are a lot of people out there applying for the same thing, so we will have to make do with what we have.”

They will also be out and about during the Home Care Initiative drive that would be carried out in Ba today, but Mr Bukalidi said, “For tomorrow (today) we will be adding pie and other pastries in addition to our juice booth.”
