Woman Who Drove Car Into Rewa River  Referred To  St Giles

The 35-year-old woman who is alleged to have driven a car into the Rewa River on May 6, 2018 has been referred to the St Giles Psychiatric Hospital for mental evaluation.

Rozleen Razia Khan appeared before High Court Justice Vinsent Perera represented by Legal Aid Commission lawyer Lice Manulevu.

The accused is charged with one count of murder.

It is alleged that she tied herself with her four-year-old daughter and drove their car off the road into the Rewa River, which resulted in her daughter’s death.

State lawyer Lavenia Bogitini appeared for the Prosecution.

The accused has been further remanded in custody pending her psychiatric report.

The case has been adjourned to June 12, 2018.
