Australia’s Lita Magazine Dedicates Its Spring 2018 Issue To Fiji And The Fijian Fashion Festival

One of the major aims of the Bottega Gold Fijian Fash­ion Festival (BGFFF) is to connect Fijian designers directly to external markets and global trading platforms.

Hence the partnership with the much lauded Lita Magazine, an independent publication that showcases the next generation of Australia’s forward thinkers and innovators.

Lita Magazine focuses on show­casing the best emerging and es­tablished Australian talent.

Although they usually feature only Australian designers and models, the opportunity to dedi­cate an issue to Fijian fashion was something they eagerly embraced.

Lita’a fashion editor Shannon Clayworth is well known in the Sydney based Pacific fashion com­munity as being a great supporter of Pacific origin fashion. Shan­non, who is a well- known stylist and a rising star in the Austral­ian fashion industry, has attended many Pacific and Fijian runway events in Sydney, even utilising Pacific designs in shoots.

For the Spring 2018 issue, Lita will feature only Fijian models, in editorials that are a mix of Fijian and high end Australian design­ers, photographed in various loca­tions around Suva and an island resort.

The Winter 2018 issue has indig­enous Australian top model Sa­mantha Harris on the cover and the Spring 2018 issue will show­case a Fijian beauty on its cover, confirming Lita’s commitment to showcasing the beauty of diver­sity and vice versa.

Alongside its quarterly publica­tions read by 55,000 worldwide, Lita has a significant online pres­ence with a digital reach of 250,000 and growing.

Coupled with their recently launched digital news platform, which will be dedicated to FFF the entire time they are in Fiji, Lita’s reach will ensure that Fijian fash­ion will have a respectful global audience of connoisseurs and consumers.

“The Bottega Gold Fijian Fash­ion Festival is proud to deliver on its promise of bringing global media attention to our talented designers and industry stakehold­ers, who occupy a unique place in the broader global fashion family,” said the chairperson of the Fash­ion Council of Fiji Faraz Ali.

“We are also pleased to be able to feature the iconic Grand Pacific Hotel, and more generally Suva, our fashion capital, in a maga­zine which will be viewed in tra­ditional print and on electronic platforms by upwards of 250,000 people.

“This is another first for our in­dustry – to have an international print publication dedicate so much of itself to what we have to offer.

“The cover will feature a Fijian model, and the cover as well as all major editorials will feature Fiji­an designer garments in conjunc­tion with Australian and global luxury designer garments to illus­trate how the broader market can incorporate what we are creating into their wardrobes.

“The Revolution is well and truly here and we look forward to wel­coming the Lita team as part of our Festival family.”
