Vodafone Fijian football captain Roy Krishna is impressed with the performance of the young Tavua side during the Vodafone Fiji FACT 2018 tournament at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.

The Saroj Kumar- coached side scored an upset 2-1 win over Nadi in their pool opener and were unlucky to be beaten 1-0 by Suva yesterday. A lapse of concentration among the Tavua defenders saw midfielder Tevita Waranaivalu heading home the lone goal, right on full-time.

Speaking to SUNsports, Krishna said Tavua could still make the semifinal if they do well in today’s final pool clash against Lautoka.

“It’s good to be here and it’s good to watch the brothers play,” the Wellington Phoenix striker said.

“I’m here to enjoy football since I’m still on a break and I love the game. Tavua is a young side and it’s good to see young players playing and they have been doing well.”

Looking into the tournament, Krishna says, he is still hoping that his home team Labasa are able to continue on with their winning performance to hoist the Fiji FACT title.

“I was happy when Labasa won their first game and hopefully they continue like that throughout the competition,” he added.
