Saint John’s College Under-18 rugby side edged out Lelean Memorial School 15-12 in the second round of the Fiji Secondary Schools Eastern Zone competition in Ovalau yesterday.

Speaking to SUNsports, St John’s College U18 coach Fauliasi Vasu said despite recording their first win they are still room for improvement.

“I think players need to do a lot of work,” Vasu said.

“Some areas the players need to work on are their defence, set-pieces and scrum. They were careless in these areas during the first half and allowed the opposition to score two tries.”

Vasu said he is hopeful the players will keep up with the momentum of the game as they aim to qualify for the Deans Trophy’s national quarterfinals.
