Gareth Baber will make the call on whether Semi Radradra and Josua Tuisova will play at the London 7s: John McKee

Toulon duo Semi Radradra and Josua Tuisova joined the Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team camp in preparation for the World Sevens Series in London which begins this Saturday.

Radradra and OIympian Tuisova joined the team camp on Monday following their Barbarians 63-45 defeat of England at Twickeneham over the weekend.

The Somosomo, Taveuni native he was instrumental as the Barbarians’ scored nine tries and Radradra was unstoppable by the sheer strength of his running and passing.

Fiji Airways Flying Fijians head coach John McKee also confirmed yesterday the final decision now rests on head coach Gareth Baber.

“Josua Tuisova and Semi Radradra have joined the Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team in London and Gareth will make the call on whether he will select them for the London 7s,” McKee said.

Radradra and Tuisova are also in the Flying Fijians squad which gathered in Suva yesterday for the June internationals against Samoa, Georgia and Tonga.

Earlier this month Baber has been having talks with the duo and believes their presence will be an added

boost to the side in the final leg of the World Sevens Series and the Rugby Sevens World Cup in San Francisco in July.

Former coach Ben Ryan did the same thing by including San Francisco 49ers and Vodafone Fijian Bati Jarryd Hayne in the same event in 2016.

He was included in the Rio Olympic Games squad but was later dropped. But he helped in lifting the competition for places within the team which the Osea Kolinisau-led side later won the first sevens rugby gold medal at the four-yearly event.

Sau signs with Perpignan

Fiji Airways 7s winger Eroni Sau has signed a two years contract with a French club Perpignan.

Dubbed on the rugby field as ‘The Sledgehammer’ he has played 46 games for Fiji since 2017 scoring 165 points from 33 tries.

He is expected to join Perpignan after the Rugby Sevens World Cup 7s.

Meanwhile Fiji plays their first pool match against Argentina on Saturday at 10:20pm(Fiji time), Scotland at 1:26am on Sunday and New Zealand at 4:32am.
