Tailevu wing sets target

Ilikena Vudogo is happy to playing for Tailevu in the Vodafone Vanua Championship and hopes to become a Flying Fijian in future.

The 20-year-old Kadavu native said the passion for playing rugby is what keeps him going

“I have always wanted to be a professional rugby player in future,” Vudogo said.

“When I left school at Year Eight, I made it my goal to one day wear the Fiji jersey.

“I started training in my own time and joined the Tailevu team.

“When I was named to be part of the Fiji Under-20 squad I was really overwhelmed, knowing that my dream was slowly taking form.

“What kept me going was my family and knowing that what I am doing is for them.

“I pray that one day I will be a Flying Fijian or a Fijian 7s rep,” he said.

Vudogo plays wing for Tailevu.

“Playing for Tailevu is a preparation towards the U20 tournament in June and I am very much looking forward to it,” Vudogo said.
