Three Fiji Nationals were declared Champions at the 26th Toyota Tsusho South Pacific Holdings Group Skills Contest in three Categories out of the four in Papua New Guinea on Tuesday last week. The event is staged annually and attracted participants from Papua New Guinea, Samoa, American Samoa, Vanuatu, Tonga and Fiji who have claimed top positions in their respective countries.

The Learning and Development Team at Asco Motors in Fiji run a series of qualifyingrounds at the National Skills Contest which is held around November each year.

Participants from Toyota Dealerships in Samoa, American Samoa, Vanuatu and Tonga also participate at the National Skills Contest. Winners from the National Skills Contest then become eligible to participate at the Group Skills Contest.

The Group Skills Contest this year featured four categories, Service Advisor, Technical

The champions will represent the South Pacific at the Assembly of Champions which is held annually in Japan and hosted by the Toyota Motor Corporation. Toyota Champions from around the world are acknowledged and recognised at this annual event. The champions are provided an opportunity to better understand the operations of Toyota Motor Corporation and learn more about the Japanese Culture.
