More than 70 National Training Productivity Centre (NTPC) staff members with their director celebrated Eid on Wednesday.

NTPC director Isimeli Tagicakiverata said it was the first time they celebrated the occasion and he was happy about it.

“It was a wise decision. The question is not why, but why not?,” Mr Tagicakiverata said.

“Being one community and one NTPC we must be fair to everybody. We have to be inclusive because we celebrate Easter, Diwali, Holi and today it is only right to celebrate Eid.

“A good number of our staff belong to the Islamic faith.

“Their dedication to fast for a whole month shows commitment and discipline which are values for productivity and to bring good outcomes.

“My belief as NTPC director is to be fair to everybody no matter which religion we belong to,” he said.

“Our people are happy and excited about this celebration.”

NTPC principal research officer Aiyaz Khan said they were blessed to celebrate Eid with the NTPC family and he thanked everyone present for the time and support.

“This is a blessing that we are celebrating Eid with our colleagues because we spend most of the time with them at work,” Mr Khan said.
