The Gallagher Chiefs were guests at the Sports and Wellness Day celebration at Suvavou Village in Lami yesterday.

Rugby fans in Lami were excited as they met their rugby heroes like co-captain, Sam Cane, Damien McKenzie, Charlie Nagatai, Anton Lienart-Brown and Liam Messam for the first time.

Fijian-born Chiefs loosie Pita Gus Sowakula thanked the organisers for inviting team to be part of the celebration.

“Thank you all for supporting us and the great welcome that you have prepared for us,” he said.

“We are so grateful to be part of the Sports and Wellness day with all of you. We were not really expecting any of this but we just want to thank all of you.”

Ratu Sukuna Memorial School Under-16 coach Isikeli Vuliwaqa was also at Suvavou to thank the support of the Chiefs when they had played in a tournament in Auckland, New Zealand.

“I thank the Chiefs for providing the team with a ground for us to train in,” Vuliwaqa said.
