Coming to a new territory will not stop the Pulse Energy Highlanders team from giving their best performance against the Gallagher Chiefs at 7.35pm today at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

Those were the words of Highlanders co-captain Ash Dixon who yesterday said the Chiefs have already played in Fiji so they are familiar with the environment.

“The loss we had suffered to the Chiefs in March is what will make us go out and try to settle the score,” he said.

Dixon added they have just got together as a group and they are hoping to inspire the young children.

“With the ample talents here, hopefully it can inspire these young kids to come over in Dunedin and be another Waisake Naholo or Tevita Nabura,” Dixon added.

“We managed to get our All Blacks players back this week so it’s just about getting them up to speed of what we are doing again.

RISING STAR

Shannon Frizell who made his debut for the All Blacks during Test against France last Saturday will be coming off the bench for the Highlanders

“Frizell has been awesome, very exciting and fresh. He has played a lot of top rugby so you don’t want to rush them too early and just give them the time and the heat. He is a major prospect and we’ll bring him in slowly come tomorrow.”

PUMPED UP

Dixon said it’s guttering that only one will be playing today but Naholo is very much looking forward to the clash.

“Naholo is all pumped up to actually play here. I think it is one of his goals to play in Fiji and it is a huge achievement for him so he is really exciting about the challenge as well.

“Nabura and Naholo add so much character to our side and hopefully they can put on a good performance so we can come back to play in Fiji again,” he added.
