The Malolo Women’s rugby side are taking things one at a time as they aim to secure a Skipper Cup Premiership’s semifinal spot next week.

This was after they walloped Naitasiri 57-12 at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori last Friday night.

Malolo Women’s coach Linda Shannon said she was impressed with how they had played against Naitasiri.

“This was after a three-week break and some of the girls were out with the Fijiana fifteens and sevens teams. The win has set a good platform for the team as we get closer to the semifinals,” she said.

“We picked up some of our weaknesses today, so we will be working to improve on those areas.”

Shannon said they would not be underestimating their opponents in the semifinal but instead try to give them a good run.

“We’re not sure who our opponents are but we will treat that game as a final. We will give our hundred percent and if the girls stick with what we have planned to do I’m sure we will be able to get to the final.

“We don’t want to get overconfident but we respect other teams that have reached the semifinals so we’ll just give it our best.”
