The Suva Women rugby team remained undefeated after their match against Nadi was called off in the second half last Friday night due to the absence of medical officers.

Suva Woman manager Talei Turaganivalu said although the game was cancelled they still would not be taking any teamslightly as they head into the semifinals.

“The match commissioner called it off but since we were leading 17-0 during the first half we were awarded the winners,” she said.

“Right now we can’t be taking any team lightly and we really need to work on our fitness. We have to put all our focus on our game when the semifinal comes. All teams have been preparing for this and even though we are undefeated there are no rooms for errors.”

Turaganivalu said they have yet to confirm on who they will play in the semifinal.

Nadi manager Pesi Naisua said they were planning to make a comeback in the second half but it was unfortunate that the game was called off.

“We needed this win to qualify for the semifinal. We saw that Suva had played well and we were about to execute our game plans.”

Meanwhile, Nadi have qualified for the semifinal after Rewa lost to Nadroga 36-24 at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori. At Thomson Park in Navua, hosts Namosi Women thrashed Navosa 44-0.
