Koli Sewabu wants Highlanders to fire from start and don’t gibe Stallions a chance

Naitasiri’s unpredictable and tough but are the champion

Naitasiri is focusing on getting everything right at training before they play defending champions Nadroga on Saturday.

The two provincial rugby sides play in the Skipper Cup Premiership semifinal at Prince Charles Park, Nadi at 3pm.

Coach Koli Sewabu said the Highlanders need to focus on training.

“The important thing is for us is to do what will better our performance rather than worry too much on what Nadroga will do,” Sewabu said

“We will try and give our best to win to accomplish our goal.  But if we lose than that is the end of our season and we don’t want to end it this week.

“This week it’s all about clarity and focus on the little things making sure that we get everything right.”

Sewabu said the four teams have reached the knockout stage of the competition.

“The four teams survived after seven rounds of competition and should be a good battle with experienced players back in the sides.

“We need to start with a bang and make sure that we don’t give any inch to the Nadroga team as they are strong side.”

Matawalu vows best show

The BLK Nadroga rugby side will be focusing on putting on their best show against Naitasiri, says Jikoibau Matawalu

The Nadroga Rugby president said this is a crucial encounter for them being defending champions.

“Coming to the semifinals, the four teams will equally be the same so we are focusing on improving our weaknesses in the past seven games,” Matawalu said

“We had two losses and we had a few close wins including the last game against Rewa last Saturday.

“Naitasiri is an unpredictable team, when it comes to crucial game as they are a force to be reckoned with. They are always a tough team to play against.

“We are the defending champion and Naitasiri is going to come with nothing to lose. “
