Young players playing in the NEWWORLD IGA Suva Netball Association will be getting exposure as they play against the Revelation teams from New Zealand during the Inter-Confederacies tournament at the National Netball Centre today.

This is the first time the association is having an Under-11, U12 and U14 tournament.

Association president Gabrieli Qoro said yesterday the competition would be a great exposure to the local players.

“We are deeply honoured to host an overseas team at our event and we would like to expose our young netballers. Especially rubbing shoulders with players of their same age group,” he said.

“The local players are excited about the games and certainly looking forward to an excellent tournament.

“All the players in their different grades will be representing their different confederacies of Kubuna, Burebasaga and Tovata.”

Qoro thanked all their sponsors for helping them to cater for the tournament.

“We are fortunate that NEWWORLD IGA continues to support Suva netball and we appreciate their financial support. This has enabled us to host a tournament of this calibre to ensure that we are developing netball at grassroots level,” he said

“We are focussing on players at this level, so that we can enhance and promote the competition for this age group.

“We will be looking forward to a great event and we invite family and friends to support our tournament.”
