Horizon Energy Group chairman Tony de Farias said one of the main decisions to increase one its  investment into Aquaheat South Pacific Limited, was because of the sound economic mood the country was presently enjoying.

An investment of over NZD$6 million (FJ$8.61m) has been done into the business.

Aquaheat has been in Fiji since 2014 with its biggest project being to deliver the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning for Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay.

After successfully completing this project, Aquaheat acquired Airpro South Pacific on November 1, 2016, which  was a testament that the Fijian economy is stronger than ever. In May, 2017 Aquaheat rebranded all its businesses and now its under the Aquaheat brand and recently the company acquired Trade Supplies PTE Ltd.

“It’s been a great advantage to us that we have the CEO of parent company, Ajay Anand, is Fijian born and understands culture and business environment here which has given us the confidence to actually make the investments,” Mr de Farias said.

“To be honest we are very impressed by the economic activity that is taking place here in Fiji and the confidence here.”

He said another significant factor was seeing major players (investors) re-investing in the country.

“We can only think of good things to come. Obviously we have we have expanded reasonably considering we have purchased Trade Supplies.”

For further investments, Mr de Farias replied: “Let’s just watch this space for further opportunities to expand our business and footprint here in Fiji.We certainly have the resource and capability to do it.”
