More youths are now equipped to carry out their farm projects after the Ministry of Youth and Sports assistance.

Nuku Village Youth Club of Naitasiri is one of the clubs which received a chainsaw and other equipment from the Minister for Youth and Sports Laisenia Tuitubou.

Club member, Ratu Esira, said Government assistance helped the club of 29 members achieve their target given Naitasiri’s rugged terrain.

“It’s a blessing,” the 32-year-old said at the Valelevu Youth Training Centre on Friday.

“We plant Yaqona, and one of the challenges that we face is clearing of the land especially when it comes to cutting of trees.

“This would really help us and we are so grateful.”

He said their yaqona farm was now two-years-old and they would be harvesting very soon.

“This is one way that we support our own family and the community at large.”
