Tavua Fightback To Hold Ba

Playing with only 10-men a gutsy Tavua side fought back to hold Ba 3-3 in their Vodafone Premier League clash at Govind Park, Ba, yesterday
What happened: The hosts took an early 2-0 lead and was heading away for victory. It was not to be as Tavua pulled one back before halftime.
Halftime: Ba 2-1 Tavua.
The visitors started strongly as striker Vilitati Kautoga scored their second goal as they drew level 2-2. The match got heated up as both teams searched for the winning goal.
A controversial penalty was awarded to Ba and this caused an uproar among the crowd but Manasa Nawakula was on target to put them ahead 3-2.
However, Tavua refused to give up and fought back gallantly as Vilive Naulalevu slotted in the equaliser.
Comment: Tavua captain, Semi Vakatalei said: “We were only playing with 10 men but we still managed to score the three goals. We are now focused on the Battle of Giants tournament and hope that the team will do wonders. We are now preparing for our first match against Lautoka in the B.O.G.
“Also we’re focused on our remaining league matches because we want to lift our standings. Though we were losing in the first half, I told the players that the match has not ended and that we could win.”
