Essence of Fiji to Launch Namasé Skin and Health Products

With the rapid expansion of Nama products, Essence of Fiji will launch the Namasé brand on July 31.

Essence of Fiji Group Director Debra Sadranu said the brand’s innovative beginnings started with products that provide an organic alternative in skin rejuvenation.

She said: “With the emphasis on health and wellbeing, introducing the skincare range directed our thoughts to what else we could do with Nama, thus resulting in the health food products.

“We have always been about empowering local women for economic sustainability, and with how the world is evolving, that focus remains, but with additional attention to the environment and culture,” she said.

“Namasé embraces it all, providing the women of the Yasawa Islands a viable venture in supporting their coastal environment, and promoting a generation old food source rich in iron.”

She confirmed that Namasé Skin and Health already has an imprint set within Senikai Spas, a local chain of spas with 20 years of experience in Fiji’s tourism industry.

“Jack’s Fiji has also confirmed its interest through an exclusive retail venture, the first of its kind locally for this unique skincare and healthy range.

“The products have also gained the attention of the international market, with a distributor in the United States confirming an order in early July,” she said.

“Nama of Fiji was created as the high end in luxury skincare products, offering hydration skincare, Nama soap, after sun gel, bath soak and insect repellant, whilst the Essence of Fiji’s Sea Minerals provide unisex skincare for problem skin”.

Support from the Australian funded private sector development programme, the Market Development Facility (MDF) has been developing sustainable Nama sourcing from the farming communities in the Yasawa Islands, which, scientific evidence reveals, is home to the largest and plumpest of the much sought-after ‘sea grapes’.

Additional research from the dedicated team at Essence of Fiji saw the emergence of a health food product line called Nama Fusion.

Beginning with Nama seasonings, comprising Nama Salt and Nama Flakes, these products are healthy alternatives to salt, so can be used in the cooking phase or sprinkled over food.

Supplementary food items which are currently being developed within the Nama Fusion range include chocolate, detox tea and capsules.

The Minister for Health and Medical Services Rosy Akbar will be the chief guest for the event.

Meanwhile, Essence of Fiji was awarded the Specialised Tourism Services and Support to Industry Award at the 21st ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards in Nadi earlier this year.
