Labasa cobbler, bus garage worker are among the five lucky winners who will watch the Rugby World Cup Sevens in an all-expenses paid trip of a lifetime

Ravneel Kumar can’t wait for the Gareth Baber-coached Fiji Airways Fijians 7s team in action at the AT& T Park in San Francisco this weekend.

The 25-year-old of Vunika native is among the five lucky Fijians who won an all-expenses paid trip to watch Rugby World Cup Sevens after taking part in a Coca-Cola promotion.

“I can’t wait to see our heroes in San Francisco,”Kumar said.

“For the first time I will be watching the sevens team live compared to previous years. I never missed out when our team are playing as I have a 14-inch TV at home.

“I feel proud to be part of this once in a lifetime journey. I thank Coca-Cola for the opportunity as this is a very special trip.”

Kumar worked as a shoe repair boy for few years at Umesh Footwear before he opened up his business in two years ago in Labasa Town.

“I collected 110 entries and confidently told people who asked me that I’m going to watch the Rugby World Cup Sevens.”

Among the winner is Jone Nagudru, 60, of Toga in Rewa who works at the S.Nair Transport bus garage in Nakasi.

“I saw it on the TV and then I thought to myself I should be part of it as this is a free ride for the lucky winners. I only collected 10 entries,” he said.

“I’m so grateful for this wonderful opportunity

In February this year Coca-Cola ran a promotion to send 6 lucky winners to San Francisco with all expenses paid. One did not travel to personal reasons.

The other winners who departed last night are Roneel Ram, Sunil Dutt, and Kau Vuso.

They will be accompanied by Coca-Cola Amatil’s Felisha Tuiloma and Losimani Surrendra during the weeklong event.

Coca-Cola thanked Digicel for providing Huawei Smartphone for each winner.
