What happened; It was a heartbreaking moment for the defending champions Rewa as they went down 2-0 against Nadi in round two of the 2018 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament at Churchill Park, Lautoka yesterday.

William Valentine opened the scoring for Nadi in the 17th minute with a thrilling goal which was a follow through ball connected by Josevata Ducucagi and only to be ripped across the back of the net by William Valentine.

Rewa took a shot but it missed. Nadi led 1-0 at half time.

Nadi lifted momentum in the second half. Rewa tried its best to equalize however was unsuccessful at each attempt.

It was never too late for Nadi’s Rusiate Matererega who scored Nadi’s second goal following a cross from Napolioni Qasevakatini into the 80th minute of the second half.

Big Play: Nadi’s Rusiate Matererega was thorn in the Rewa defence.

Comments: Nadi coach Maxwell Thaggard said; “The approach was good and it’s been quite a while for us, the boys played a good game.”

Rewa coach Lorima Dau said their next focus is to try and beat Dreketi today to keep their chances alive for the semi final.

“The boys played well but unfortunate we lost the match. We have not lost hope as we have another crucial match to play.
